If you’re anything like me, then fall is your favorite season. As the weather is finally starting to cool down, we can finally start getting seasonal drinks from various coffee shops. But what if you want something other than the stereotypical pumpkin spice latte? Don’t worry, there are plenty of great drinks, coffee, matcha, or others, that can get you just as deep into the fall vibes!
lattes
A lot of people’s go-to drink at a coffee shop is a latte, so I’ll start off with a couple of great lattes I’ve had so far this fall! My first recommendation would be the 151 Pumpkin Caramel Brulee latte. It’s very much on the sweeter side, but sometimes we all need that sweet treat! It’s a latte with caramel drizzle, pumpkin and cinnamon syrup, a soft top, and some more caramel on top!
Another drink I’ve loved this month is a cookie butter latte! I’ve gotten the one from Dutch Bros a few times, but many other coffee chains carry this as well. I love the Biscoff cookie taste, as well as the brown sugar and vanilla notes. Similarly, you can also go for a cinnamon roll latte. This one can be found at Scooters and Starbucks, but you can also order it at other places. Simply ask for a latte with brown sugar, cinnamon and caramel, and if you’d like it extra sweet, you can add caramel drizzle or cold foam!
CHai
My personal favorite fall drink has to be the dirty iced chai! I prefer this drink hot, with either vanilla or pumpkin spice syrup. The extra shot of espresso gives it a caffeine boost and a richer flavor, and it’s a drink you can get almost everywhere!
A variation of chai that I would love to try is the 7Brew Apple Butter Chai Latte. Apple is a staple fall flavor, and the cinnamon and spices of the chai would pair great with it!
Lastly, for those of you all who like your coffee sweet, a few locations and shops also offer banana bread chai lattes. This is a super yummy, decadent drink, and I would recommend, once again, adding an espresso shot or cinnamon to balance it out.
Energy drinks/Non coffee
For those of you all who don’t like coffee, don’t worry, I didn’t forget about you! There are quite a few places that have released fall special energy drinks. The first one on my list is the Dutch Bros Autumn Berry drinks. You can get this drink as a lemonade, an energy refresher, or even as a blended drink. I have not tried it yet, but it has notes of pomegranate, orange, and peach, which sounds delicious.
Another chain with cool fall drinks is 7Brew. They have a Drizzled Apple line, which you can get as an Energy Chiller, a blended energy drink, or a Fizz, which is like a dirty soda. Customers describe the flavor as a crisp apple with smooth caramel, so if that sounds good to you, I’d totally recommend it!
If you don’t want to go to a coffee shop, there are a few other drinks that could be a good option for you! Alani has a very popular seasonal energy drink, called Witch’s Brew, and it is always a hit on social media. Bloom Nutrition also has two fall flavors: Crisp Apple and Pear Scare. These can be found at all major grocery stores and gas stations, so grab ’em while you can!
matcha
Lastly, if you don’t like energy drinks or coffee, my last set of recommendations might be for you! I personally don’t like matcha, but a lot of my friends do, so I decided to include this section as well. Starbucks has come out with their new Pumpkin Cream Matcha, which is a matcha latte with a pumpkin-flavored cold foam. The flavor combination is quite unique, and it might become a new fan favorite!
Another drink that has been circulating on the internet is the banana bread matcha. It’s a matcha with banana syrup, sometimes even cinnamon dulce syrup, and topped with a brown sugar cold foam. This drink is available at Starbucks, but check out your local coffee or matcha shops as well!
Whether you’re studying, hanging out with friends, or walking around campus, a fun drink is always a must. While the pumpkin spice latte will always be famous, it never hurts to go out and try something new! I hope you got some new ideas and inspiration for your fall drink orders. Happy sipping!
