We can all agree that the past couple of years have brought a huge revival of pop stars. Artists like Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Charli XCX have been dominating the music industry with their catchy songs, big stage and social media presence, and relatable lyrics.

Enter Audrey Hobert – 26-year-old singer-songwriter from NYC who embraces pop stardom in a whole new way. Just two years ago, Hobert was working as a TV writer for Nickelodeon when she began writing songs for current artists. After co-writing with her childhood friend, Gracie Abrams, for her 2024 album The Secret of Us, Hobert began working on her own debut album.

Who’s the Clown?

Audrey Hobert’s August 2025 release, Who’s the Clown? is a fresh and interesting take on pop music, featuring a whimsical pop-rock sound and witty, yet vulnerable lyrics.

The lead single “Sue Me” appeared on the Billboard Top 100 and was popular on social media following its release. The music video attracted fans due to Hobert’s fun and charming dance-like-no-one’s-watching personality.

The album established Hobert’s style and takes us on an adventure through her life with its autobiographical narrative storytelling wrapped up in a fun, catchy and witty pop package. The whole thing just feels like you’re on the phone with your girls, unabashedly gabbing about your life.

Why Audrey Hobert deserves pop stardom

Having songwriting and vocal abilities doesn’t automatically allow you to reach pop star status. Audrey Hobert has more than that; she has an allure that makes her the perfect next pop diva. Called “pop music’s funniest newcomer,” she is authentic, relatable, and has an amazing stage presence. She has already begun making her own lane in the industry and has potential to be really big.

Where to start

If you are new to Audrey Hobert, here are the three songs I think you should listen to first!

Bowling Alley – will be stuck in your head all day long

Phoebe – weird girl anthem

Wet Hair – feels like the perfect crisp fall day
