When It’s Just Too Cold for Skirts and Tights

I didn’t go for the colored denim trend that really hit hard this past spring. I liked baby blue jeans on my mom and burgundy skinnies on my little sister, but just wanted nothing to do with them myself…which is why my recent obsession, or maybe fascination, with printed jeans surprises me.

Perhaps it’s the limiting options we find ourselves with in winter—much as I love clothes (and a good dress), I’m just not the type to wear a dress and tights when I know my body wants me in a jeans and a sweater, not to mention a hat and scarf. And since that combination can become pretty dull pretty quickly, maybe printed pants are an appropriate, rut-fixing solution. Sometimes when fashion gives you lemons, its best to just make lemonade.

So, if you too are an at-heart jeans and a loose tee-shirt kinda girl, don’t worry that it will translate to boring. Some of these options are quite literally just the opposite. The best part is there’s a pattern for every style.

Check ’em out!

This first pair is high on my wishlist (I’ve got them on a high-stakes sale alert)…but I mean, the inspiration lies in the ease: white or black tee-shirt + boots= instant warm weather walking around look (available here)…

WIth this pair, patterned pants take a turn for the ultra-girly amongst us

Punk style patterned-denim here

These brushstroke jeans are pretty fearless

A bold black and white speaks for itself

Splurge-worthy shiny tuxedo stripes make this pair a special find

Fall and winter fashion doesn’t have to mean a uniform–and its more fun not to go that route, especially as the days get darker and shorter. Its all about creativity–but if you need a little help, you’ll always find us here!
