Well, the groundhog saw his shadow on February 2nd. We all know what that means—six more weeks of winter, and with winter continuing to drag on and on, stress levels are rising. If you’re wondering how we will all make it through another month and a half of this, don’t worry. HCK is here to brighten up your dreary day, week, and month! Here’s a roundup of videos, websites, recipes, and more to keep your mind off the cold weather:

1. This 10 Minute video of puppies and kittens playing together.

2. Recipe for a fudge brownie you can bake in your dorm, no oven or pan needed! If you’re not in the mood for brownies, here’s 18 other yummy treats you can cook with a mug and a microwave.

3. A playlist of songs from Disney and other animated movies, and a playlist of 90s music.

4. Mix your own personalized nature sounds and chill out while reading or studying.

5. Remember that selfless people like the “Mystery Yarn-Bomber” exist.

6. A livestream of the elephants from the San Diego Zoo. I personally find it calming to watch these guys go about their day. Also, there are babies, and they’re adorable.

Class of 2017 at Kenyon College. English major, Music and Math double minor. Hobbies: Reading, Writing, Accidentally singing in public, Eating avocados, Adventure, and Star Wars.
Ally Bruschi is a senior political science major at Kenyon College. She spent this past summer interning as a writer with both The Daily Meal, a digital media group  dedicated to "all things food and drink" and The Borgen Project, a non-profit organization that partners with U.S. policymakers to alleviate global poverty. Before entering the "real world" of jobs, however, Ally spent many summers as a counselor at an all-girls summer camp in Vermont, aka the most wonderful place on earth. A good book, a jar of peanut butter, a well-crafted Spotify playlist, and a lazy dog could get her through even the worst of days.
