I’ll admit it: I was one of those people that used to say, “If I ever download TikTok, know that I’ve been replaced by the government and am no longer the Samantha you know.” But like so many of us, I succumbed to the void during quarantine. What else was I supposed to do for six months? Read?!

In an attempt to make my now constant TikTok consumption productive, I wanted to share some of my favorite female queer creators. Ranging from comedians to musicians to teachers, TikTok has introduced us to some pretty cool women. Here are just a few of them I love!

10. kingprincess69 (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU9rEYN/

Why I love her: Anyone who knows me knows that I am and always will be a sucker for Mikaela Strauss, so of course she had to be on this list. King Princess joined TikTok during March and posted every now and then, but really started to shine in late July. She posts videos of her girlfriend, her music, fan duets, and more. Anyone who would appreciate lots of close-ups videos of Miss King will appreciate this account.

9. veondre (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU98pMg/

Why I love her: Veondre is a trans girl who posts relatable and really interesting videos for all age ranges. On her account, she covers a wide range of topics, like exploring one’s sexuality, Black Lives Matter, the intersection of sexuality and gender, and what it’s like to be a trans woman of color.  Her videos take the form of skits, monologues, and sometimes even the latest dance trend! She’s sweet, informative, funny, and creates a welcoming space for her followers.

8. emgracedawg (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU9bNow/ )

Why I love her: Emily’s profile is filled with skits and POVs about being a queer woman. One series of hers that I love follows a lesbian with a group of straight friends who don’t understand how things like dating and fashion work in the queer world. She frequently talks about the low standards society has set for men, and jokes about her straight friends’ shitty boyfriends.

7. lexaprolesbian (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJUxLrnq/)

Why I love her: Ramsey is hilarious and is known for making up catchy songs and sounds, but also makes educational videos covering difficult topics. In addition to the viral “Walking Through My Neighborhood” song, she’s also written and performed jingles about self-sabotage, forgetting to reply to DMs, and Pez dispensers. Some of her more serious videos talk about eating disorders, anxiety, and activism.

6. msrebeccablack (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU9w4gE/)

Why I love her: Yes, this is THE Rebecca Black… you know, the girl who wrote “Friday” back in 2011? Well, now she’s on Tik Tok and she’s queer! Rebecca has talked about how much she’s grown since her hit single came out and makes videos discussing her mental health and how the viral video affected her life. She recently graced us with the most popular dance among WLW (women who love women) right now to Phoebe Bridger’s “Motion Sickness.”

5. quenblackwell (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU93chr/)

Why I love her: She dances. She sings. She acts. She models. And she barks. Quen Blackwell is not new to the spotlight. She’s been a star on Twitter and Instagram and even all the way back to Vine. Her Tik Toks, though, are a whole new genre of funny. Quen is currently dating her boyfriend Parker, but she loves to joke about how inconvenient that is because women are clearly so much better.

4. theprincessames (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU9TcKV/

Why I love her: Amy Jo is known best for her “Your Cool Teacher” POV series, a collection of videos where she, the viewer’s cool teacher, acts out various situations where she would support her students. Some of her most popular videos show how she would, and how she believes all teachers should help students through things like coming out to their parents, teen pregnancy, dealing with eating disorders and mental health.

3. sarahschauer ( https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU9HG7g/

Why I love her: Sarah is a comedian who uses she/them pronouns and frequently hangs out with viral “Kombucha Girl” Brittany Broski. She makes skit videos and films her candid life with all her cool friends. Most of her videos bring the viewers inside her life, as she talks and jokes directly to the camera, and make you feel like you’re one of those cool friends yourself.

2. trapbunniebubbless (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJU93KWQ/ )

Why I love her: It’s trap… bunny… bubbles. Yes, the icon behind this song is a raging lesbian, if it wasn’t already clear. In her videos, she dances with friends, promotes her music, talks to fans, and even explores LGBTQ+ topics. She’s best known not for her videos themselves, though, but through her remixes and original sounds that have been used and heard by millions.

1.gkuhlenschmidt (https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJUgM8td/

Why I love her: Grace is easily my favorite Tik Tok account across the board, straight or queer. Her bizarre comedy sketches leave me dying laughing. She describes herself as a “straight lesbian comedian” and honestly, I still can’t even say with 100% certainty that she is in fact queer (thought I would be slightly more concerned and less entertained by her videos if she wasn’t). You never quite know what she’s trying to say, but whatever it is, it’ll make you laugh.
