Six Summer Sundresses

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

The weather is just the right temperature—not too cold, but not too hot, the leaves on the trees are finally here and we are getting ready to start our summers. As a way of celebrating your homecoming, grab your wallet (or even better, your mom) and hit the mall because it’s sundress season!

1. The Chambray Dress

The chambray trend has been in all year, so it’s only fitting that it carries over into summer. Anthropologie gets it right and keeps it from looking too straight-out-of-the-90’s. It’s casual enough to wear over your swimsuit to the pool, but you can also dress it up for the evening or work with a simple switch of shoes.

2. The High-Low Dress

The high-low trend has also been pretty on-point this whole year. This Forever 21 dress—with these details and in this color—will keep your closet fresh and exciting. An added bonus: at this price, you can splurge on something else, too!

3. The Throw-It-On-And-Go Dress

Patterns, birds, an asymmetrical hem: it doesn’t sound like it should work, but somehow, Zara made it happen. Since there’s so much going on with this dress, you really don’t need to worry about accessorizing, so it’s great for those days when you’re in a hurry to get on your way.

4. The Maxi Dress

Modcloth provides a twist on the classic maxi dress. With vibrant colors and a classy neckline, you can wear this to the beach or pool, but still look professional during the hot months of the year.

5. The Little Black Sundress

The LBD—a staple wardrobe item—is appropriate for any occasion, even summer. The ASOS Mini Bandeau Sundress is versatile enough to take you straight from a casual day with your friends to a night out on the town.

6. The Classic White Sundress

Nothing says summer quite like a flowy white sundress. This one from Nordstrom is classy and simple enough that you’ll be able to wear it for seasons to come.
