HC Kenyon: Tell me what it’s like being Archon president.
Katie: Being president of Archons is a lot of work but a lot of reward. It’s a great way to meet people from all different years at Kenyon. And it’s a great way to meet guys…oh wait.
HC Kenyon: What’s the most fun thing you’ve done during your reign?
Katie: Probably DJ-ing my first Archon party. It definitely helped that I was dressed as a zebra.
HC Kenyon: What do Archons do?
Katie: Archons is a coed Greek organization that focuses primarily on community service. But what makes us wonderful and special is that we accept everyone who wants to become an Archon, which sets us apart from other Greek organizations. We have about 100 members right now, which includes people from all years.
HC Kenyon: Compare your leadership strengths with those of President Obama.
Katie: I don’t know, I’ve always thought of myself more as a Michelle than a Barack because she’s fierce and we both have great arms.
HC Kenyon: So the Archons have a great rep for all-campus theme parties. What can we expect this fall?
Katie: Well I can’t give away too much, but there’s a good chance Beyoncé will be involved.
HC Kenyon: Speaking of Beyoncé, what is your favorite song from her new album “4”?
Katie: I gotta go with “Love on Top.” It’s like the happiest song ever and she sang it for the debut of her baby…what more can you ask for? And she looks good in sequins.
HC Kenyon: Who would you rather be stranded on an island with: Anderson Cooper, Snooki, or Paula Deen?
Katie: Anderson is a silver fox. But I think I’d have to go with Paula Deen as long as there is butter for her to cook with.
HC Kenyon: What are your thoughts on Chris Brown’s music video with Justin Bieber, “Next to You”?
Katie: 1. When did Chris Brown and Justin Bieber forget how to dance?
