Leap Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

Leap Day 2012 is off to a great start. First of all, the weather is GORGEOUS. (And weird.) Secondly, the was goat cheese in Peirce. So what’s next? A hot air balloon on Ransom Lawn? A marshmallow Peeps-themed dinner in the Great Hall? If Leap Day William has taught me anything, it’s to expect the unexpected and to take some risks. So tonight, women of Kenyon, I charge you to go out and make something happen. (And work doesn’t count.) Take some inspiration from our patron saint, Leap Day William.

Let’s a take moment to appreciate how Tina Fey actually convinced me for a few minutes that Leap Day traditions are a thing. Now let’s reflect upon all of the things that we say we want to do, and then make a list and actually do them. Rainbow shots at the Cove? DOING IT. Bacon merchandise at the Bookstore? YES. Would I like to streak down Middle Path? ABSOLUTELY.

May all your Leap wishes come true!!

Caroline Black is a senior Drama major at Kenyon College. In addition to co-founding and writing for her school's HC branch, Caroline is co-president of Beer and Sex, Kenyon's student-run freshman orientation program (and she enjoys making jokes about that title as much as you do). When she's not doing hippy-dippy acting warm-ups or volunteering with her service organization, The Archon Society, Caroline enjoys watching "Parks and Recreation" and dismaying her friends with terrible puns.
