Farewell, HCK!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.
  • Sell back textbooks
  • Indulge in discounted bookstore ice cream
  • Make headway with my seminar take-home exam
  • Start to think about thinking about packing
  • Write a goodbye HCK post

The above is the to-do list that currently resides on a Post-It Note on my dashboard, reminding me that, though the weather is getting nicer and the schoolwork is winding down, there is still so much to do.

And, though I hate packing almost as much as I hate folding fitted sheets, it’s the last task on the to-do list that I’ve been putting off the most. On this beautiful day at the near-end of my last finals week, I have to say goodbye to my staff, to my position as editor of Her Campus, and to scholarly life at Kenyon. It’s been a wonderful four years–and three with HCK–and I want to thank all of the readers for the constant feedback, support, and praise!

I wish all you readers an safe journey home, an exciting summer, and wonderful remainder of your time at Kenyon and beyond. Keep reading, keep learning, keep the Kenyon spirit alive!

Ally Bruschi is a senior political science major at Kenyon College. She spent this past summer interning as a writer with both The Daily Meal, a digital media group  dedicated to "all things food and drink" and The Borgen Project, a non-profit organization that partners with U.S. policymakers to alleviate global poverty. Before entering the "real world" of jobs, however, Ally spent many summers as a counselor at an all-girls summer camp in Vermont, aka the most wonderful place on earth. A good book, a jar of peanut butter, a well-crafted Spotify playlist, and a lazy dog could get her through even the worst of days.
