It doesn’t take much to get a smile out of David Miller. He’s one of those people who emits good vibes you can feel a mile away with an infectious laugh that you can hear from the same far away distance. He’s
probably one of the best huggers on campus and can easily cook up a pun that’s as delicious as his Eggplant Parmesan. Spotting him on middle path is enough to set the heart aflutter — that’s why he’s
this week’s Campus Cutie!
Name: David Miller
Age/Year: 22, Senior
Hometown: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Major: English Major, Chinese Minor, Women’s and Gender Studies concentration, Creative Writing Concentration
Career goal: I want to be a human rights lawyer for an international NGO.
Favorite Movie: That’s a toughie ! My very favorite is the Princess Bride. Every time I watch it I notice something new that I’d never noticed before.
Favorite Book: It’s difficult being an English major because by nature you like so many books. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is probably number one. I also love anything by David Levithan; we’re corresponding! I really liked his book Boy meets Boy and How They Met and other stories, so I messaged him on Facebook and he replied !
Ideal first date: I would make a home cooked meal. I would probably have the date bring the wine – that way we’d be starting off on equal footing.
3 qualities you look for in a significant other: I think honesty is really important. A good sense of humor is important too. I’m definitely looking for inquisitiveness and curiosity – I think its kind of sad if you don’t want to know things.
Guilty pleasure: Does True Blood count? Does young adult fiction count? Do musicals count? Basically, I’m of the thought that you really shouldn’t feel guilty about what you enjoy. You should be proud of it. I don’t mind that I like True Blood. I like Twilight and I am proud of it!
Hobbies: I like reading for leisure, and I enjoy writing poetry a lot. I really like cooking. I think cooking is probably my favorite hobby. It relaxes me and I just like being able to feed people!
Spirit Animal: Red Panda – they’re kind of adorable!
If you were a drink, what drink would you be?: I would definitely be a cocktail –maybe a Long island Iced Tea – just loaded with booze!
#1 thing on your Kenyon bucket list: I’m not sure if I’ve ever been to a party at New Apts… Also I think it would be fun and terrifying to try to get haunted around campus
