Campus Cutie: Rachel Kaplan

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kenyon chapter.

Name: Rachel Kaplan

Age: 22

Year: 2015 (graduating in less than two weeks, eep!)

Hometown: Harrison, NY

Major: English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and Drama

Activities on campus: Theatre, Music, Brave Potato, and I do stuff with Voice. Okay, so I’m kind of a homebody and leave a boring life, but I’m happy.

What is your patronus?

Probably a puppy. (Interviewer note: I agree 100%)

What is your favorite place on campus?

Ooh, I don’t know. I have a love for the music building. I really love being there. But I also really like sitting outside at the NCAs. Oh, and third floor ascension.

What was on your bucket list that you crossed off this year?

You know, I did something that I crossed off, but I don’t remember.

What would you title your personal autobiography and why?

I would call it Falling On My Face: the Misadventures of Rachel Kaplan, because I’m clumsy, and I fall a lot.

What are you going to miss most when you leave Kenyon?

The campus is so pretty, and I’m going to miss being able hang out with my friends just every day.

What made you excited to be here every day?

The prospect of learning new things. That’s cheesy but true. And my friends. I really love them.

If you could go back to anytime, anywhere, ever, when and where would you go?

Hmmm, that’s a super good question. I would maybe go to Regency England to hang out with Jane Austen, because that’d be really cool. I think also the 20s in Harlem to steal the dresses and bring them back to now because they’re so pretty.

Last but not least, what’s your favorite candy?

Umm, hmmm, Swedish Fish. Peanut M&Ms are delish too.
