It’s Friday night and you’re dressed to the nines in your sexiest mini skirt-boot combo and sporting that super sexy cat-eye you and your girlfriends spent 30 minutes perfecting. Tonight you’re looking for a little love, but when you arrive at the party, between the dark lighting and constant movement of people, the guys all just look like a giant sea of sweaty dudes with Solo cups. Who’s hook-up worthy and who’s just a nasty d-bag lookin’ for some action? Enter, the Wingman/Best Guy Friend you’ll ever have: Jared Jacobs. Not only is this dude hook-up worthy himself (his bunny soft and perfectly messy Jew curls are just too cute), but he knows practically all the nice guys, hot guys, and all-around good guys on campus, and he can set you up too. If he doesn’t know them (the particular guy you have your eye on), he has an uncanny ability to tell an asshole from a nice guy in a second. Thanks to his dude knowledge and successful repertoire of match-ups, my conversation with freshman Jared Jacobs resulted in many nuggets of gold, from the wingman process to the sexiness of the yoga pant.
How did you begin your career as a wingman?
Basically it was when my friends started making out with girls, I started helping them out. I just help out my friends, its what guys do.
Do you act as a wingman for both your girlfriends and you guyfriends? Which would you say is easier?
I do it to help my friends out. Helping someone else could also help you in the future. It’s cool to help out your friends because it gives you a tighter bond. I’ve got to know them to be able to make the connection. It depends on the their personalities.
Do you get fewer girls because you’re too busy getting girls/guys for your friends?
No, because I do me first. I don’t do it often enough that I miss out.
Describe your wingman process? Do you subtly get them together or are you pretty straightforward about it?
It really depends on who it is and what the situation is. Sometimes I go and talk to the friends to see if they’re hooking up with anyone and if not then I go in and make the suggestion. Like with my brother’s best friend, he thought this girl was hot and she thought he was hot, and so I just talked to them both and got them together.
Have you ever f*cked things up? Messed it up for either the girl or the guy?
You can’t really screw it up for someone. You can’t go too wrong with “She thinks you’re cute” or something small. You just can’t go balls to the wall and say something like: “They’ve been thinking about you for weeks and staring at you as you walk by!”
Is/Has there ever been a situation in which you would refuse to wingman?
Yeah. Like if a girl asks me to wingman and the girl is someone I want to get with then I don’t. Or I’ll say I’ll help them out and then I set her up with me.
And how does that work? I just do my thing and make a move. Clearly flattered by this interview, he walks up to the mirror and comments “mmmm my hair is looking nice today”. Now some boy questions from the ladies in first floor Mather….. What’s the best way to approach somebody? You just walk up and introduce yourself. If you’re at a party and you’re casually hanging out, then just go near them and if they show body language and they show they’re kinda looking at you, then just say “Hey”. It’ll show that you’re interested which will make it a lot easier.
Best outfit to pick up a guy in?
SO LOW PANTS!!
Note: So Low’s are a brand of yoga pants that are, obviously, quite low-cut and, apparently, make every girl’s butt look irresistible.
Really? Those yoga pants?
Hell ya! They’re super flattering. But honestly, a girl should just wear whatever is flattering for her body.
What are some signs that a guy likes you?
If he gets near you a lot, offers you a drink, or if his friends start talking to you. Oh and if he asks you to play beer pong. Pretty much anytime he asks you to be his partner he’s trying “to get”. (He means like “get it in”.)
Is it inappropriate to ask for a guy’s number? Should you just wait for the guy to ask for your number?
If you ask then he knows you’re interested. Its confident, which is a good thing.
Any closing words for our lady readers?
Ya, where all da’ ladies at?
