The leaves are turning, it’s getting chilly, and love is in the air. If you’re getting tired of the same old Wiggins Street Coffee Dates, we understand. With these Disney movie-based date ideas, you can ensure you and your date will relive your childhoods while you get the “royal treatment. Read on for fun date ideas (and connect them with the Disney movies on which they’re based!)

1. Ride on a magic carpet (Aladdin) If your local Cave of Wonders is closed, you can lay out a blanket and let the wind blow in your face. Close your eyes, sing “A Whole New World,” and it will be just like the real thing!

2. Sing with woodland creatures (many Disney classics) There’s tons of birds and squirrels on campus.

3. Release lanterns into the sky (Tangled)

4. Save China (Mulan) This one may be a stretch but come on…be adventurous! Study abroad idea, anyone?

5. Eat an entire jar of honey. The Amish folk sell some great jams, honeys, and breads on Middle Path.  (Winnie the Pooh)

6. Ring the bells of the Notre Dame (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) After all, Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world. But, since it’s a bit far, maybe you could find a way to ring the church bells on campus.

7. Climb down a rabbit hole and visit Wonderland. Take your date to the BFEC for some outdoor adventures! (Alice in Wonderland)

8. Share a plate of spaghetti (Lady & the Tramp) You know the drill…“accidentally” go for the same noodle and then selflessly give up the last meatball. So cute. We think the K.I. has some great pasta dishes on its menu this season!

9. Swing on vines through the jungle (Tarzan) Or you could invade Wiggin Street Elementary one night and swing on the monkey bars. Option 2: The upside down tree near Peirce makes a great getaway date spot.

10. Listen to crickets. (Pinocchio)

11. Befriend a lost kitty (Oliver & Company) A cat will always be good company, and you know you’ve seen a ton of cats meandering around campus.

12. Explore an elephant graveyard (The Lion King) Or the cemetery behind Storer. Or the cemetery down behind New Apts.

13. Adopt an alien (Lilo & Stitch) Or, you know, if that doesn’t work out, you can always take a (very long) road trip and go surfing.

14. Waltz in a grand ballroom (Beauty and the Beast) Join ballroom dance club together!

15. Fly to Neverland (Peter Pan) It’s just the second star to the right and straight on till morning. If you don’t have access to pixie dust, you can go stargazing instead.

16. Save puppies from being turned into fur coats (101 Dalmations) Volunteer at the Knox County Humane Society with your special someone.

17. Eat an apple…or better yet, go apple picking before it gets too cold!  (Snow White)

18. Dance in the middle of the woods (Sleeping Beauty) It might feel like as if you two have always known each other, as if you had walked together once upon a dream.

19. Rediscover a lost island (Atlantis) If that sounds too time consuming, you could find a new hangout spot on campus instead!

20. Take a canoe ride through a blue lagoon (The Little Mermaid) Make sure you get your best friend to create the mood.

21. Sit on a rooftop. We hear the New Apts rooftops are easy to access and only a little unsafe… (The Aristocats)

22. Attend a ball (Cinderella) Any fancy party will do. Or even Old Kenyon if you stretch your imagination.  Don’t forget to get a ride in a magic pumpkin!

23. Save the day with true love’s kiss (Snow White and Sleeping Beauty) It’s a classic romantic gesture.

24. Have a frying pan fight (Tangled)

25. Paint with all the colors of the wind. Let out your inner artist and do something creative with your date! (Pocahontas)

Ally Bruschi is a senior political science major at Kenyon College. She spent this past summer interning as a writer with both The Daily Meal, a digital media group  dedicated to "all things food and drink" and The Borgen Project, a non-profit organization that partners with U.S. policymakers to alleviate global poverty. Before entering the "real world" of jobs, however, Ally spent many summers as a counselor at an all-girls summer camp in Vermont, aka the most wonderful place on earth. A good book, a jar of peanut butter, a well-crafted Spotify playlist, and a lazy dog could get her through even the worst of days.
