As the weather starts to cool down, the leaves aren’t the only things changing. Every new season brings new trends, new fads and new interpretations of classic garments. Stay in style this fall with these tips. Take them as they are or make them your own. Your style is a reflection of you.

Dress in shades of red

From maroon to tomato red, to burnt red and pink; No matter the shade you choose, red is always a great choice this fall. This trend is most commonly seen in sweaters and knits such as pullovers or cardigans. It is shown in accessories as accent pieces or as a complete look.

Add a new texture

Leather and velvet were seen all over the runway for this fall. Leather is always a good staple and the biker-chick look is very in. Whether you choose to sport a classic leather jacket, a pair of leather leggings or a shirt with leather accents, the choice is yours. Velvet is shown in tops and dresses, giving outfits a warm, vintage look. As the weather gets cooler, the fabric gets thicker and leather is a great way embrace the change.

Rock a Cape

This chic new take on a blazer is this fall’s new jacket craze. Ultimately, a cape is a poncho with arm holes, which looks better than it sounds. You can style your cape over a dress for a more professional look, with jeans and a plain top for a more casual look, or invest in a cape that is more like a jacket such as wool or tweed.

Rock a pair of Over-the-Knee Boots

Boots have always been a staple for the fall. However, this year the traditional boot has taken on new heights: above the knee to be exact; with options in leather or suede, flats or heels and much more. You can pair these boots with a dress or skirt, or make the look more casual paired with jeans and a sweater.

Invest in a Bodysuit

Fashion trends have their cycles and bodysuits are back. Although they may make going to the bathroom more difficult, their sleek look, paired with a skirt or jeans, is making a comeback. Channel your inner childhood ballerina with a leotard to embrace this trend. From simple solids, cut-out details, blouse styles, tanks, short or long sleeves; With so many variations of this trend you are sure to find one that suits your style.
