What Trend You Should Wear This Fall, Based on Your Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

As summer comes to a close and class is back in session, it’s time to switch out our tube tops and sandals for sweaters and boots. While we’re all still mourning the summer, it’s never too soon to plan our fits for the upcoming months. If you’re shopping for new fall pieces, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the number of new trends you see on Instagram or at your local mall. But don’t worry- I’ve got you covered. I rounded up the biggest fall fashion trends and figured out which ones work best with your personal style. Keep reading to find your next go-to piece for the season.

Athletic – Bike Shorts

The trend that never quits, bike shorts are here to stay for seasons to come. A black pair is the perfect staple for a streetwear enthusiast- just add a sweatshirt and your fave trainers for chilly weather.

Feminine – Hair Clips

If you find yourself gravitating towards ditzy florals, dresses, and heels, chances are you’d love this trend. Try pairing a tortoise shell or pearl clip with a cute blouse to step up your look.

Trendy – Snakeskin

Attention Instagram “It” girls: we have a new animal print for the season. Snakeskin accessories can take your fall wardrobe to the next level- or try a jacket if you’re feeling brave.

Edgy – Leather

While this might already be a staple for some, leather is taking the fashion world by storm. Add a leather jacket to an all-black ensemble for some texture.

Classic – Cardigan

You’ve probably seen this trend blowing up on Instagram and Pinterest, and it’s bound to stick around now that the weather is cooling down. Wear a cropped cardi with a cute skirt or mom jeans, depending on the occasion.

Boho – Western

Western style elements have come in and out of the spotlight a few times in recent years, but it’s definitely sticking around for fall. Style cowgirl boots or a western buckle belt with a lace dress or flowy blouse to put a twist on the usual boho look.

If you need me, I’ll be online shopping for the perfect cropped cardigan for my fall wardrobe. Try out the trend that matches your style best and tag @hercampusstyle in your gram!
