It’s known as the happiest place in the world, the place where the magic happens, its Disney. Whether you’re in World or Land, dreams are supposed to come true. Is that always the case? What happens when you grow up and realize fairy tales don’t exist?

Over the summer of 2017, I got the chance to experience Disney World for the first time in my 18-year life. I never got to enjoy all the extravagant and fun when I believed movies were real, but my trip still lived up to all the claims. Here, are the top five reasons Disney is just as magical when you grow up as when you were a child.

The delightful laughter of the children

Let’s be honest, we all love the person whose laugh is contagious, but hearing laughter of innocent pure joy is a remarkable thing.

 The Atmosphere

Stop and take a look around you. You see the look of pure happiness on the children’s faces, you can see the love of families, and you can soak in the fantasy of the entire space around you. Going to Disney is like going to a home away from home.

The décor and extravagant buildings

When you were a kid, all you could pay attention to was the fact that it was from the movie, but now after watching the countless hours of HGTV you can’t help but get lost in the underwater world of the little mermaid, the grandiose of the Beast’s castle and all their key pieces.

 Interactive games/rides

The Buzz Lightyear ride, Epcot’s Spaceship Earth, and the hilarious unexpected photos they take.  You can’t argue that these games aren’t just as fun as when you were a kid, and you might even be better at them now.

Characters

When you’re a kid you think the greatest thing in the world is meeting your favorite princess, it is just as an incredible feeling when you get older. The princesses are the sweetest and never break character. All the characters are the cutest things and make you feel on top of the world.

Family

Whether it’s yours or someone else’s, Disney brings families together. I want nothing more than to go back and cherish the moments I had in Disney World with my aunt and uncle a little longer.
