In less than a month we will be counting down and shouting “Happy New Year!”. New Year’s Eve is a time to celebrate what has been in 2018 and what will be in 2019, and who doesn’t want to start the new year in a killer outfit? Whether you are going to a big party or a small gathering, feeling your best in the first minutes of 2019 certainly couldn’t hurt anything. With velvets, bold colors and plenty of sparkles, this New Year’s wardrobe wishlist should contain something for every fashion lover.

Velvet

H&M Velvet Jumpsuit

This trendy, yet subtle, black velvet jumpsuit is the best of both worlds. A $10 steal from H&M, this piece can be dressed up with heeled boots, some blingy jewelry and a faux fur jacket to keep you warm for a big night out. For a more casual look, throw any thin turtleneck under the jumpsuit and pair it down with sneakers or a simple boot.

Express Petite Velvet Dress

The square neck velvet slip dress of your dreams! This rich emerald velvet number has a flattering, elongating side slit and is perfect for the festive season. For New Years, pair it with a layered necklace, black heels and a blazer. For another look, try throwing a cream sweater on top complimented by some black booties and a black bag.

New Look Curve Velvet Knot Dress

Another classic fit, this velvet number would pair wonderfully with a colorful heel for a simple and stunning night out look. Throw on a statement earring, grab your favorite cross-body or clutch, and you’re ready to go!

Sequins

ASOS Design Striped Sequin Top

This colorful sequin tank is the essence of New Year’s style. I mean, who doesn’t love some glitz every now and then? For a more paired down look, throw this tank over a plain black turtleneck and tuck it into some classic black jeans. If you are heading out on the town, try coupling this tank with a leather skirt.

ASOS Design Curve Sequin Embellished Top

This beautifully embellished top is subtle yet attention-grabbing all at once. Another versatile top, this sequin stunner can be worn casual with jeans and boots or can be the perfect match for a black skirt and heels.

H&M Sequin T-Shirt Dress

One can like sequins or one can love sequins; if you are like me and lean towards the latter, then this t-shirt dress is the look for you. This dress is a perfect match for some heeled, black over-the-knee boots. Or, why not give it a try with some sheer tights and black Doc Martens?

Shimmer

H&M Sparkle Striped Pencil Skirt

This form-fitting pencil skirt puts a spin on the classic silhouette with a side slit and glitter stripes. Tuck a black top into this skirt for an easy put together look. At a midi length, this skirt would be worn best with heels or a heeled boot.

Warehouse Velvet Glitter Jumpsuit

This glitter striped jumpsuit has a flattering V-neck and straight leg cut. Pair this fun piece with some black heeled boots and a black aviator coat for a warm, comfortable and exciting New Year’s look.

Glamorous Curve Glitter Wrap Front Bodysuit

This trendy wrap bodysuit has the subtle detail of polka dots under the silver and black glitter that amplifies its festive quality. Whether worn with black jeans or a leather skirt, it is sure to make a great statement on the final night of the year.

Bold Colors

New Look Bright Purple Jumpsuit

A strapless top with a V cut, this wide-leg jumpsuit is bold and beautiful. This piece is belted at the waist, and its bright purple color is sure to turn heads in the best way possible. This jumpsuit does all of the hard work for you, just add heels and jewelry of your choice.

ASOS Design Petite Green Pant

Keep things professional with these deep green ankle grazer peg pants. Tuck in a turtleneck, tee or button down then throw on some black oxfords or loafers, and you are sure to stun. Add some blingy jewelry to spice up this look.

Mango Pink Sweater

How would you like to start the new year looking pretty in pink? This bright pink sweater is a cozy and casual option for holiday. To add some edge to the look, pair the sweater with some leather pants or a leather skirt.

Hopefully, this list will help inspire what you are wearing as you watch the ball drop with family and friends on December 31.
