Get Ready for Her Week 2021!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

You are formally invited to help Her Campus Kent State celebrate 7 years as a chapter on campus! April 5th-9th we will be holding virtual events every night for our annual Her Week celebration, ending with a socially distanced Her Party! Check out all the fun events we have planned below and make sure to follow our social media @hckentstate for links to all the events.

Her Fundraiser and Her Art

To kick off Her Week 2021, HCKSU will be holding a fundraiser at Tropical Smoothie Cafe from 2-8pm on April 5th! Just mention us at checkout to support our organization and enjoy some crazy good smoothies with your friends.

At 7pm we will also be hosting Her Art, a relaxing paint and sip to unwind and let your creative juices flow. Grab a canvas and your favorite beverage and spend the evening with us, all are welcome!

Her Community

On Tuesday, April 6th, HCKSU will be joined by Katie Carver from the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank to learn more about how to get involved in helping our community. Just like our other events, this presentation will be held virtually at 7pm via Google Meets, see you there!

Her Career

Wednesday we will be hosting Her Career in collaboration with PRSSA to hear a panel of women in PR speak about their experiences with imposter syndrome and navigating the workplace. These wonderful speakers include:

Alexia Harris: Manager, Communications Culture, Inclusion and Diversity at United Healthcare

Cassandra Pegg: Director of Kent State Women’s Health Center

Allison Peltz: VP of Social and Content Marketing lead at KeyBank

Brandi Neloms: PR and Executive communications at Amazon

Join us at 7pm via Microsoft Teams to hear the panel and discussion!

Her Health

On Thursday our very own experienced dance coach Jessica Goodwin will be leading a hip hop dance class! We will be having a great time dancing together (virtually) and working out our bodies to celebrate Her Health. We can’t wait for this super fun event and we hope to see you all there!

Her Party

Finally, we will end our week with an in-person socially distanced Her Party at Panini’s Bar and Grill in downtown Kent beginning at 4pm. This event will take place outdoors on their patio and masks will be required at all times when not eating or drinking. Free pizza will be provided, along with the chance to win one of our 5 adorable raffle baskets! We hope you all come out to help us celebrate Her Campus Kent State’s 7th birthday this Friday, April 9th.

We can’t wait for all we have in store this week, we hope you’re excited too! Don’t forget to follow @hckentstate on Instagram for flyers with details for each event as well as the meeting links. See you there!
