Four ways Beyoncé has shown she runs the world

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

If her song didn’t’ explain it enough, Beyoncé runs the world. Her exemplified girl power and strong relationship are exactly what we should all want out of life. Here are four different ways Beyoncé shows us what goals really are.

1. Her family is beyond adorable

It all started with her pregnancy announcement during her ‘Love on Top’ 2011 MTV Video Music Awards performance. After that moment we looked for Beyoncé’s next move when it came to her family. Captivated by her Instagram posts, we’ve been watching Blue Ivy grow up and their bond as a family grows too.

2. Embracing girl power

Beyoncé is known as a girl’s girl. Her song “Flawless” helped give feminism a voice as it featured a piece of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TED talk on feminism. In a lot of her songs you can hear how she feels about relying on a man in life.

3. Dropping albums, unannounced

Beyoncé: The album that needed no advertising. In 2013, Beyoncé released her self-named album without letting anyone know. Her ambition and confidence on how her album would sell is something we can all look up to. If we all had confidence in what we did like she did in “Beyoncé”, then we’d be able to do anything we wanted.

4. Speak the truth and nothing but the truth

When Lemonade dropped so did the secrets. Instead of hiding their secrets, Beyoncé and Jay Z decided that it is better to let their skeletons out of their closet, and what a better way than with Beyoncé singing about it? The featured songs were raw and beautiful. The album Lemonade taught us to overcome any life or love issue thrown our way. It’s inspiring to have a couple so powerful to look up to, which are clearly not perfect.
