Exciting Spring Photoshoot Ideas to Up Your Instagram Game

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

It is finally spring time! Wow, this winter weather has felt as if it would never end. I cannot wait for the grey skies to turn to blue and for my wardrobe to have color again. I always find that my clothing reflects the season that we are in. For example, majority if not all of my sweaters for the winter are cool toned and dark. That is why springtime is my favorite because of all of the bright and uplifting colors. For this week’s article I will be giving you some fun springtime photoshoot ideas to “up” your Instagram game. These ideas are super easy and will not break your wallet.

Bouquet of Flowers

One of my favorite photos that I see all over Pinterest and Instagram are the photos of the model holding a very pretty bouquet of flowers. Personally, I love heading to my nearest Trader Joe’s or local supermarket to pick out the flowers. One cool part about this photo is that you can easily match your outfit to the flowers, which makes the photo turn out 10 times better. When taking this photo be sure to incorporate as much color as you can and do not forget to accessorize.

Fun Colored Wall

Another easy photoshoot idea that I have is finding a fun colored/textured wall. The best tip I have when trying to find a cool wall is to just walk around your nearest city. More often than not you will find a hidden gem (and in this case a cool wall) that you have never seen before. This photoshoot idea is so simple, yet with the perfect outfit to match the background it can make a great photo. And if you do not have a person to take a photo of you, I recommend buying a tripod. You can find the tripod that I use here.

Art Museum

I love going to the art museum during any season of the year. However, I must say my favorite time to visit is definitely during the springtime. At the Cleveland Museum of Art there are a lot of areas within the building that have large windows and glass walls where you can see the flowers peeking through. This is a great place to take pictures, and since the museum is decorated very plainly, having an extravagant outfit will make the photo pop!

Botanical Garden

Going along with this idea of flowers in a photoshoot, I thought it would be a great idea to take photos at a botanical garden. You can get some awesome pictures with all different types of flowers and even use them as props. At the Cleveland Botanical Gardens they have spaces that are indoor and outdoor, making it perfect for either a sunny or cloudy day. I highly recommend taking a visit!

Coffee Shop

The last photoshoot idea that I have revolves around a fan favorite: coffee. Nowadays, coffee shops are decorated to a tee and some are even Instagram famous for it. I love the idea of going to a coffee shop to take photos because yes, you can buy yourself some coffee, but you can also use it as a prop in the photo. If you are like me and do not know how to pose, I recommend having some sort of prop to help you loosen up a bit.

I hope you have fun if you try any of these photoshoot ideas!
