This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

After the devastating Indians loss, many Cleveland fans aren’t sure who to root for in the World Series. The Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers are fighting in the Fall Classic beginning Monday night. Each team is unique in their own way. On one hand you have the Houston Astros, who have only made one world series appearance but was picked from the beginning to win it all. On the other hand you have the Los Angeles Dodgers who have had a season for the history books with stars like Cody Bellinger and Clayton Kershaw. These two teams have been battling it out even before the start of the postseason. Both teams were on the way to having the best record in baseball; the Los Angeles Dodgers won with a record of 104-58.

Houston Astros

If you love a true underdog, the Astros are your team to root for. The Houston Astros have only made one World Series appearance in 2005 but got swept by the Chicago White Soxs. This team has been a postseason favorite even before the start of the season. With the help of Carlos Correa and Jose Altuve, this team was picked to definitely make the postseason. During the regular season, the Astros were on their way to having the best record in Major League Baseball but lost that title to Los Angeles Dodgers, falling three wins short. So far in the postseason, the Astros have had an interesting couple of games. They beat the Boston Red Soxs three games to one and were neck and neck with the New York Yankees. The Astros had a 2-0 lead over the Yankees in the American League Championship Series but fell behind three games to two. They eventually went on to win the next two games to beat the Yankees in the hectic series. The Astros look to carry on their success when they face the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Although the Dodgers have won six World Series titles, the team had a season for the history books. With a competitive division, the Dodgers battled from the beginning to win the NL Central Division. After the all-star break, the team went on a 11 game win streak to help them create a bigger lead in their division. The Dodgers began to falter a bit when they went on a 11 game losing streak. With the rise of rookie outfielder, Cody Bellinger and all-star shortstop, Corey Seager, this team was unstoppable. Their lineup team is built up with power hitters, rising stars and an all-star pitching rotation. So far in the postseason, the Dodgers have only lost one game, to the World Series reigning champs, the Chicago Cubs. They swept the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Division Series, and beat the Cubs four games to one in the National League Championship Series. The Dodgers look to continue their success against the Houston Astros Tuesday, October 24th.
