Many of you have probably heard about the Kent State Greek power couple, Dom and Kalene. If you haven’t, here’s a bit of the background story. These two have been dating since 2009. Dom is a Kappa Sigma and Kalene is a Delta Zeta. Both Dom and Kalene are the presidents of their chapters. But wait…it gets cuter. Dom is Delta Zeta’s sweetheart while Kalene is the sweetheart for Kappa Sigma. With Valentine’s Day fast approaching and love in the air, Her Campus was ecstatic to get to know these two a little better.

Most memorable date:
His: Over the summer we went to Deep Creek in Maryland and spent the day jumping off waterfalls. It was pretty cool.Hers: We went to Disney World for a day and we hit all four parks.

His: Disney movies, PG.Hers: The Great Gatsby
What are must have qualities in a partner:
His: Can’t be too similar, must have long legs, pretty smile, she can’t be taller than me or way too short, funny, likes to cuddle, nice personality, caring, smart.Hers: Gentleman, chivalrous, good looking, smart, open minded and protective.
First Impression
His: 9th grade… no 6th grade, she was weird… really weird. I made fun of her every day because she wore the same pink clothes in Mr. Polloff’s class.Hers: Greasy, he had a long bowl cut and he was a player in 6th grade; he had multiple girlfriends.
What did your friends say when you started dating?
His: You got two weeks.Hers: Yep, two weeks.Him: They had bets.Her: Yeah, they lost.

Her Campus: How long have you been dating?Dom Cicchinelli: 6 years on February 17th.
Her Campus: Kalene, how did Dom lavaliere you?Kalene Capilongo: The GMAs last year. He went on stage and just gave a little story of us. I have always wanted to be lavaliered — I was the annoying girl who kept asking when I’d be lav’d and then he finally he did it in front of all of his brothers.
Her Campus: Dom, what would you say is the foundation of your relationship?DC: We always stick together and always work things out.
Her Campus: Kalene, did the two of you both plan to become presidents of your chapters?KC: No, he didn’t even want to join a fraternity, nor did he want me to be in a sorority.
Her Campus: Dom, do you have anything big planned for Valentine’s day? Can we have a hint? DC: She won’t be here, she’ll be in Texas. I might do something at the airport.
Her Campus: If you two could give another couple relationship advice, what would it be?DC: Try to fix your problems between the two of you.KC: Really listen to what the person has to say, understand and try to put yourself in their shoes.
