Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity, Grace Lilly. We all need some inspiration to be as hard working as possible, especially to get our dream jobs. See what Grace said about chasing her dream job.

Age: 19

Major: Fashion Merchandising

Year in school: Sophomore

Hometown: Waverly, Ohio

Her Campus:  Tell me about an experience that you are proud of that you think has affected you the most?Grace Lilly: I have been a lover of all things Kate Spade for as long as I can remember.  I love the colors, patterns, and effortless beauty of all the bags. I remember walking into Kate and feeling as though I was transformed into a happier more cheerful place. In high school working at Kate Spade was something I always considered to be a “dream job.” A year and a half ago I was offered a job at a Kate Spade store an hour from my house and it was a no-brainer. I accepted. Working at Kate has been an amazing experience. I have always been somewhat of a shy person and working at Kate has allowed me to find sort of a vibrant, more energetic version of myself. As a fashion-merchandising student, I could not have asked for a better beginner job.

Her Campus: How has this experience made you a better person? Grace Lilly: Something that I have really gained from this experience has been working with my managers on store floor sets. I have worked a few other retail jobs but nothing has been as satisfying as receiving the floor set as a mere picture and by the end of the night creating the look in the space around you. Usually, I would work on the wallet tables and dress the mannequins for window displays. To me the floor set is a large puzzle attempting to fit everything just right. It’s a long night, but one I look forward to all month. Kate Spade I believe is one of the most creative companies in the handbag market. The company’s logo “Live Colorfully,” is the perfect expression to describe Kate Spade. The visual displays that are sent to the stores are extremely detailed and there is more work than you can imagine put into color stories and the flow of the store. I have never seen a Kate Spade bag and not fallen in love. I think working simple retail jobs can give you more experience than you typically think. Everything has the potential to teach you a lesson and working at Kate has taught me many. I never thought I would have a job that made me love working this early in my life. I go to work everyday with a smile on my face! I am extremely proud to say I work for Kate Spade, and it has turned me into quite the bag hoarder. Cheers!
