Ever watch a TV show and want two people to end up together so badly you get a pain in your chest? I’ve been there, multiple times. I want to share with you my OTPs (aka one true pairs) that I believe should have been end game in my favorite shows. SPOILER ALERT – I am talking about Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Gilmore Girls, How I Met Your Mother, and Teen Wolf; if you haven’t finished these series I would skip this article.

Nate Archibald and Serena Van Der Woodsen

Gossip Girl is hands down one of my all-time favorite television shows, but I don’t agree with the way things ended with Serena. Serena should not have ended up with Dan. In my opinion Dan Humphrey was self-centered and didn’t deserve Serena. Dan believed he was so much better than everyone because he grew up poor and in Brooklyn, but he acted just as bad as the other characters. I think Nate was the honorable one. He put others before himself always. Also, he’s just so nice to look at! Plus, why should Serena be with a guy who basically ruined her life by posting everything online?

If we’re talking favorite scenes can we please talk about when Nate and Serena were getting breakfast in Nate and Chuck’s apartments kitchen? Because I LIVE for that scene.

Caroline Forbes and Klaus Mikaelson

I know we all obsess over a love story that begins with one of the characters hating the other. In this case, it was Caroline hating Klaus. She hated him for everything he did to her friends and her boyfriend at the time, although Caroline intrigued Klaus, he showered her with affection and would do anything for her even though she disagreed. Klaus was good only when it came to her and it warmed my heart. Klaus would wait for her forever. Caroline eventually came to develop feelings and I thought they had a strong chance, unfortunately, Klaus got his own show and left behind his love, but not without inviting her to join him when she was ready. UGH.

Jess Mariano and Rory Gilmore

THEY WERE EVERYTHING. If you couldn’t tell, this is the ship I feel the most strongly about. I ADORED Jess Mariano. He came into Gilmore Girls as the delinquent the town hated, but Rory got to know the real Jess. Jess was smart and kind, but he was suffering from his past life with his absent father and flakey mother. Jess was acting up to keep with what people thought of him, he didn’t want the others to see he had a heart. Rory could see this and he changed for her, he wanted to be a better man. He wanted to grow and come back to her when he knew he was right for her. I think that if they make another revival it should be Jess she ends up with. He constantly supported her, unlike Logan. Logan was always about himself and his money. He didn’t see that Rory didn’t need all his elaborate gifts and money to be truly happy.

Barney Stinson and Robin Scherbatsky

Ted and Robin? I have one word; gross. Ted and Robin together remind me of a brother and sister relationship. I think that Robin should have ended up with Barney. I personally loved this relationship. I felt that they were perfect for each other. Robin was the one girl Barney settled down for and he made her a better person, and vice versa. Robin was never a character I liked, but I enjoyed when the two were dating, and I liked her better then.

Stiles Stilinski and Lydia Martin

I love me some Stiles Stilinski. He was smart, loving, and sarcastic.  A total package! Stiles’ one true love was Lydia Martin, like Klaus he would go to the ends of the earth for her. In the beginning of the series she was unaware of his existence, but he still went out of his way to comfort her at the dance and make sure she was okay. As the series continued their friendship grew. Stiles was a constant in Lydia’s life and always made sure she felt safe and knew that she wasn’t crazy, even when she felt she was. Their relationship evolved so much, and I believe Lydia grew to love Stiles as much as he loved her.
