5 Smoothie Recipes for Everyone in Your Girl Gang

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

Before I implemented smoothies into my daily routine, I used to hear my alarm clock, hit snooze three or four times and then groggily stumble into the shower. Most of these mornings involved me running out the door and, consequently, forgetting to grab something to munch on. This scenario was even worse because I wanted to eat but always ran out of time. I like breakfast!

When I decided to start whipping up smoothies, my time management improved. I would prep what I could the night before and actually wake up on the first alarm to start making my morning pick-me up. I view waking up on time as the only option because it decides if I get my smoothie or not. Plus, I genuinely enjoy making them! I feel like a mad scientist throwing together the ingredients. The sound of the blender also wakes me up and gets me motivated to get out the door efficiently. I also feel content knowing I started my day healthily. Usually, the trend continues throughout the rest of my day.

Since I am so crazy about smoothies, I compiled four of my favorite smoothie recipes and one of my mom’s (I can vouch for it! It is delicious!) that fits all tastes and personalities. I especially like the berry smoothie listed below. It always makes me merry! I hope you find one that fits you too! Enjoy and share these recipes with your girl gang!

Malorie Newingham is a Fashion Merchandising major at Kent State University. She enjoys biking, hiking, attending concerts, and seeking out yummy new places to eat with friends. She believes traveling is essential because so much of who we are is where we have visited. On campus, you may spot Malorie reading outside of Rockwell Hall or grabbing chai tea with friends. Malorie enjoys writing because she can share her voice with others. As an author for Her Campus, she wants to keep her audience up to date on the latest trends and encourage them to take chances. Malorie hopes to find a job where she has the freedom to roam, hopefully in a Jeep with her black Labrador Bella, and discover local stores, quaint coffee shops, yoga studios, and so much more. She would love to write freelance features for different publications on her experiences. Currently, her favorite websites include Into The Gloss, Byrdie, Outdoor Voices, and The Everygirl.
