5 Reasons to Join a Fantasy Football League

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

It’s that time of year again. The air is growing cold, the leaves are turning colors, and football has officially taken over Sunday night television. Consequently, Fantasy Football season is underway and if you haven’t joined a league yet, here are five reasons why you should!

1. It’s really easy!

Don’t worry ladies, no prior football knowledge is required. ESPN offers great cheat sheets that make drafting the best players a breeze. If that is still too involved for you, the website will literally pick a team for you. All you have to do is sit back and rack up points.

2. It’s fun!

Making a league with your friends is a great way to stay connected and engage in some healthy competition. Each week, you’ll be up against a different team in your league, keeping the comradery fresh. Raise the stakes by having each person put some money in; at the end, winner takes all!

3. It’s a great way to learn more about football.

If you want to be a more informed football fan, then Fantasy Football is for you. The app makes it easy for you to read about your players’ histories and look at stats. There’s no doubt that you’ll pick something up this season!

4. Guys love it.

For all of you girlfriends out there who hate football season for taking up so much of your boyfriend’s time, here is the compromise you have been looking for. Joining a league with your man is a fun way bond and show interest in something that he likes for once. He’ll appreciate that you’re making an effort and the opportunity to beat him at his own game should be enough to sell you. I mean really, what if you won?!

5. It’s free.

Let’s be honest, college students cannot afford to frequent pro football games. Fantasy Football allows you to stay in on the action without forcing you to eat nothing but Rice-A-Roni for two months.
