5 Breakfasts to Get You Out of Bed in the Morning

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

If you struggle with breakfast, you’re not alone. Sometimes it can be easy to roll out of bed, have some coffee and run to class. However, it’s so important to fuel yourself for the day, so read on for some awesome breakfast options. Whether you are an avid breakfast lover in need of new ideas, or you are someone who wants to upgrade from a packaged granola bar, these recipe ideas are for you!

Egg Bites

Whenever I am running late in the morning, I can’t help but grab the egg white bites from Starbucks. However, this option adds up fast. I’ve found an at-home recipe that is quick and easy and can be frozen so you can make them in bulk.

Overnight Oats

Overnight oats are one of the easiest breakfast options because you can make it at the beginning of the week and grab-and-go in the morning. It is a simple recipe, but that way you can make it your own. Like blueberries? Add them and some honey for a sweet touch. Pumpkin spice season? Add some pureed pumpkin!

Frozen Breakfast Sandwiches

There’s nothing I love more than breakfast sandwiches (don’t even get me started on bagel sandwiches) and making them ahead of time allows for an easy and quick morning! This recipe is perfect if you like a hearty and savory breakfast, but not the hassle.

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

If you have a morning sweet tooth, try these muffins. Again, this is something you can make ahead to have for the week, and even freeze if you need to. It’s best if you warm it up for five seconds in the microwave!

Bagel Breakfast Casserole

I love a good casserole, and with bagels? Even better! This recipe is good for meal-prepping or if you’re having people over for a weekend brunch. Plus, if you don’t like the kind of bagel suggested, you can always replace it with your favorite.

Hopefully one of these recipes speaks to your breakfast needs. The best part is most of these are totally customizable to your tastes, so try one and let us know what you think!
