The 2020 Fashion Trends You Should Start Shopping For Now

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

It’s the beginning of a new year, and what better time to bring a few new pieces into your wardrobe? With spring around the corner, there are countless new trends to consider shopping for. Now is the perfect time to refresh your look by mixing your favorite staples with something new. Take some time to scroll through our favorite upcoming trends and find what you want to enter the new decade wearing.

Suiting

The 2010s powersuit trend will continue to thrive through the next year. Try styling a blazer with jeans and a tee, or rock a full powersuit if you’re feeling confident.

Lingerie for Everyday

It’s 2020, and lingerie is no longer reserved for the bedroom. Layer a lacy bodysuit over a long-sleeve or under a jacket to make your undergarments your newest conversation piece.

Straight-Leg Jeans

This just in: skinny jeans have been pronounced dead. Swap your 2010s staple for a straight leg cut that looks a bit more chic.

Polka Dots

A no-brainer for spring, this ditzy print is sure to be all over. Wear dots in blouse or dress form to play up its girliness.

Leather

Leather might not be for everyone, but it’s definitely memorable. If your style isn’t edgy enough for a leather jacket, try accessories to ease it into your wardrobe.

Now that you know 2020’s top trends, style away- and make sure to tag @hckentstate and @hercampusstyle in your next IG fit pic!
