“What The Fit” College Girl Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kennesaw chapter.

As a college woman myself, I understand the difficulties of incorporating a fitness routine into my daily schedule. However, as woman of fitness, I recognize the importance of maintaining a schedule. During the duration of our plans we tend to ignore the focus of health, and by the end of the day, our bodies are entirely worn out. After this long day, we feel there is not enough time or energy for a workout. The lack of focus does not only include a balanced exercise, but a suitable and healthy diet. It’s time to move past that! Trying to better and maintain a healthy lifestyle should be a part of your daily routine!

Here are a few startup techniques to begin:

1. Schedule a better sleep time.

We all have that one essay or assignment due, but you had no time in the day to get done. Schedule breaks in between doing your assignments or take a nap when you arrive home.

2. Wake up slightly earlier than usual.

Waking up earlier will give you more time in the day to get things done and more time at night to sleep!

3. Start with a 25-30 minute workout.

This could be a walk, run, or even at home workout!

4. Grab a partner.

Working out alone can get a tad boring; you may want a little push. Having a workout buddy holds you both accountable.

5. Consider meals that will fuel your body rather than harm.

We all want Chick-Fil-A for sure but changing your meal choice can help with keeping up your health journey.

6. Try meal preparation.

This will save you time from cooking or preparing meals every day. Think of it as an at home “Grab-and-Go.”! Ideas from family, friends, Pinterest, or even Google can help you serve yourself that healthy and fun “Grab-and-Go”!

7. Drink plenty of water.

Your water intake is always important when it comes to fitness and health.

8. Give yourself a goal.

Giving yourself goals can help to keep focus!

9. Have a mindset of “this is a must.”

Think of fitness as a priority rather than a forcing act. That way you can be motivated

10. Lastly, give yourself credit!

You are your #1 supporter in this journey of fitness!
