ATLANTA- This year’s Miss Universe competition will be held at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, making it the third event Tyler Perry has hosted at his studios this year. After multiple rumors, Atlanta became the official host city for the 2019 Miss Universe competition. Although Tyler Perry Studios opened less than three months ago, it is already set to host multiple major events, including the next Democratic debate for the 2020 election. This year’s competition will include contestants from over 80 countries, including our current Miss USA, Cheslie Kryst. Contestants will compete in interview, swimsuit, evening gown, and on-stage question in the final round. Our reigning Miss Universe is Catriona Gray of the Philippines.
Miss Universe, an organization, run by women for women, strives to “empower women to realize their personal, professional, and philanthropic goals through experiences that build self-confidence and act as catalysts for future success” (Miss Universe Organization). As titleholders, queens of the Miss Universe Organization are given the financial and professional tools to personally enrich others by dedicating their time to raising awareness and funds for various philanthropic endeavors. The 2019 Miss Universe competition will air on Sunday, December 8, at 7 P.M. on Fox. Will you be watching Catriona crown her successor?
