Four years

Time is up, but life has only just begun.

Leaving behind the last four years and everything I have done.

Moving on to pastures greener and skies bluer.

It is hard to think of a life without it college.

How will I figure out who I have become apart from my identity?

Every choice I made changed my trajectory.

Started a bright star that burnt overnight.

Exploded like a supernova and didn’t feel right.

Found my way through the ashes, moved on, and a new place in the night sky.

Angels by my side every step of the way, I found my black and yellow brick road.

I drifted along the way but never veered off the path.

Now here we are at the end of the road, years that felt like decades for this moment.

A moment to feel something again.

My name is Akira Allen. I am a senior biology major with a pre-med concentration at Kennesaw State University. I love writing, hanging out with my friends, and I am surprisingly really good at geography.
