It’s dark out and there are faint shadows of towering, tall trees side by side. All the creatures are sleep and the only sound is the howling of the wind swarming the city. There’s an abandoned house far off in the distance in desperate need of a paint job. The floors creak with every step. Cobwebs drape across the walls. Antique furniture layered with dust sits in the room. Water drips out of the faucet in the corner. The visitor walks to turn it off when a fine porcelain bowl falls from the cabinet and breaks to pieces right before her. Anxious to get out, she darts toward the door but abruptly stops in her tracks. She hears the pounding of her heartbeat as she intently listens to a screeching noise that appears to be getting louder by the second. As she looks around the corner shakingly, it was that moment that she turned from visitor to victim. Happy Spooktober!
