Who are you listening to?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kean chapter.

No matter what age, we all have our own music preference. You may be singing in the shower, on the way to work or school, or even while studying, there is always a need for music. Many people may disagree, but Drake is one of the biggest names in the music industry right now. With the ability to rap and sing, Drake is very versatile and killing the game as of now. He has even branched over and tapped into his Hispanic side collaborating with Romeo Santos on the single “Odio”. As much as many people discredit Drake, he is definitely putting in work in the studio.

Another artist who is making noise is rapper J Cole. J Cole has a way of connecting with his audience and has definitely made a name for himself with tracks such as, “Forbidden Fruit” featuring the up and coming Kendrick Lamar and “Crooked Smile”. Cole is one of the few artists from today that knows how to give his listeners a story and something they can relate to.

Hip Hop not really your type of music? Take a listen to another amazing artist Katy Perry. Her song entitled “Roar” is a must listen and is topping all the charts. Katy Perry has been coming with the hits since she stepped on the scene in 2007 with the single “I kissed a girl” and has continued to amaze her fans.

Now that you know a little about who I am listening to, who are you listening to?
