It’s the latest trend that is beginning to appear around Kean campus, stick on nail polish. It is more convenient and offers many more colors and designs than plain old polish.

“It’s quick to apply with no hassle,” said Kean student, Joane Tazyk. “I would use it to replace regular manicures because I don’t have to worry about waiting for it to dry.”

The strips (sometimes referred to as a nail wrap) is simple to apply: You stretch the sticker to fit over the nail and cut the excess at the tip with a scissor. You can then use an included tool to remove excess from the sides. Massage the sticker onto the nail to make sure the sticker is on the nail tightly The last step is to file the nail and it should look great!

“I think the stick on nail polish will become a new trend,” said Tazyk. “My friends all ask me where I get my nails done all the time.”

Nail company Incoco first released the stick-on polish (with a base coat, color and top coat all in one), but beauty giants Sephora and Sally Hansen released of their own designs shortly after.

A perk of the faux-polish – it is supposed to go a week or longer without chipping.

The application process takes no longer than ten minutes. Each pack of stickers comes with sixteen and they are different sizes so you can match the best size to your nail.

In the first five minutes you can still peel the sticker off if need be. After about thirty minutes the sticker becomes waterproof and you can wet your hands.

To remove the sticker nail polish, use acetone nail polish remover and it should wipe off with ease.

It can be found in most pharmacies and beauty supplies stores, prices vary.
