5 Reasons To Get Involved With Her Campus KCL

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at KCL chapter.

As this term draws to a close and we’re ready to say goodbye until the New Year, I wanted to leave you with five reasons you should consider getting involved in Her Campus come January, if you’ve only been a reader thus far.

1) You get to write about whatever you want!

Yes, anything! So long as it would appeal to women at KCL then we can post it. Whether it be reviews, listicles, think pieces, on any subject you can think of. We’d love to get as many voices involved in this as possible, so please lend yours to the mix.

2) You get to write about your friends!

Do you have society presidents, small-business owners or charity volunteers amongst your friend circle? One of our 2018 goals is to post more profiles of people at KCL, so you’ll have the opportunity to interview your friends and feature them in an article. Help us help our readers learn about just how awesome your friends are.

3) You don’t need to be a writer

We don’t just need people putting pens to paper; we also need people to edit, run social media, organise events and take photographs. If you want to join, we’ll have a place for your talents, whatever they may be.

4) You get a say in how things are run

We’re still a fledgling chapter and we’re still working out what events we want to organise and how we run the minutia of things, and if you join then you’ll have the opportunity to help us make all these decisions. Not to mention the fact that you could have the chance to take over the chapter once the original crew graduate.

5) It looks great on your CV

Not everything has to be about CVs and employment, but this is definitely an upside. If you are interested in writing then you’ll have your own URL with a collection of all the articles you write, but the experience of being involved with the chapter will look great no matter what path within it you wish to take.

If you want to get involved, email us at kcl@hercampus.com with what you want to do. We look forward to hearing from you!
