JC Business Student Getting BIG Recognition From Top Sports Media and Jewelry Companies!
This past year Rachel Murphy, an international business student at Juniata, has been recognized and offered blogging opportunities from BIG time companies, including Alex and Ani!
Rachel’s journey began a few years ago when she created her @REMBostonSports twitter account. She made the decision to make a second twitter account when her friends began to unfollow her personal account and complain about her excessive tweeting about the Boston Red Sox and Bruins.
It wasn’t long before Rachel’s Boston Sports twitter account began getting noticed. Currently the account has 1,165 followers and has been favorited, retweeted, and even followed by several members of the Boston Red Sox team.
As the twitter account grew, Rachel was contacted by several sports media companies, including Last Word on Sports and Fansided, to write sports coverage blogs for their websites.
While studying abroad in Barcelona during her junior year, Rachel uploaded pictures in various scenic settings wearing her Red Sox and Bruins Alex and Ani bracelets. Through her twitter account, Alex and Ani contacted her and asked her to do a blog series on her experience studying abroad at Juniata for their company’s website.

As graduation in May quickly approaches, Rachel is seeking career opportunities similar to what her twitter account has brought her. She also is continuing to pursue her life goal of attending baseball games in all 30 of the major league baseball parks. She continues to both be a full-time student at Juniata and run her own photography business on the side.
