Algarve

On every vacation your main goal is to relax. Algarve gives you all the relaxation you need. Visit one of the Algarve’s popular beaches, Lagos, to enjoy the warm, clear blue waters. The Algarve is a popular spot not just for tourists, but for locals as well. This southernmost region is known for its fresh fish delicacies brought to you by local fishermen. Become one with the culture and make sure you try local delacy, Sardines. A grilled fish brought to you straight from the water!

Coimbra

With its cultural and historic richness, Coimbra offers you the perfect fun filled day. It is home to one of the oldest universities, Coimbra University, where most residents attend. If you get the chance to visit, make sure to attend Fado night at a local venue. Fado is a traditional portuguese music, similar to soft blues that incorporates guitars and singing. It’s a popular tradition and is regularly held at several venues. Coimbra is a very hilly city, so make sure to pack comfortable shoes!

Lisbon

One thing’s for sure. You can’t visit Portugal if you’re not a food enthusiast! Lisbon is home to the famous portuguese dessert, Pastel Nata. This custard filled dessert is made fresh daily at Pasteís de Belem, a local pastry shop where thousands of tourists come to taste the deliciousness. After you stop and grab your very own, take a stroll across the capital on a nearby trolley and visit famous landmarks such as the Saint Jorge Castle, the Commerce Square and finish your day at the TimeOut Market for dinner!

Next time you’re planning a trip, don’t sleep on Portugal and all it has to offer.
