Thanksgiving Meals on a College Budget

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

1. Mac and Cheese

Kraft Mac and Cheese is always reliable, quick, easy, and cheap. It is found at any grocery store and all you need is water and you can make it in 10 minutes and have it on the dinner table.

2. Stuffing

Kraft Stove Top Stuffing is a quick, tasty, simple addition that goes well with the turkey on the table. This is also found at any grocery store and is very inexpensive with various flavors to pick from.

3. Green Beans

Another great addition is green beans for thanksgiving dinner. All canned green beans all taste alike and the store brand are a cheap alternative than a name brand that taste the same. Canned green beans take all of 7-10 minutes to warm up and ready to serve.

4. Pumpkin Pie

A great alternative rather than trying to make your own is a Costco or Sam’s Club Pumpkin Pie! It is great with some whipped cream on top and no one will know it was store bought!!

5. Mashed Potatoes

Instant Mashed Potatoes are a great, quick, and easy side dish to complete your Thanksgiving meal. They take no time and just need a little bit of water and they are ready to serve.
