One hidden gem of downtown Harrisonburg is the New Leaf Pastry Kitchen. Located in the Hardesty-Higgins House Visitors Center, the New Leaf Pastry Kitchen sells European style pastries, as well as breakfast and lunch cuisine.
Four pastries that we tasted included a chocolate bouchon (top left), a brown butter date muffin (top right), chocolate filled raspberry macaroons (bottom right), and a passion fruit puff pastry (bottom left).
Not only do the desserts look delicious in the display, they also taste scrumptious! This bakery is a great place to come if you want to try a wide variety of different tastes and flavors. The small and charming interior creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor seating even provides you with the option of enjoying the upcoming warm weather.
We highly recommend that you take the short walk or drive downtown to enjoy the New Leaf Pastry Kitchen, and all the wonderful recipes it has to offer!
