This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

The summer before freshman year, the hot topic was whether you were choosing your roommate or going random. After talking to a few girls on Facebook, I decided to go random and let fate decide who I would room with. And that’s how I ended up with Miranda Marck. Ever since the first time I met Miranda in person– which was me walking into the room to her drying her hair with a room fan while eating sausage in a wheely chair– I knew living with her was going to be very interesting. Let’s just say: my life hasn’t been the same since that day.

When I decided to write a profile, I knew exactly who I was going to write about. The first person I thought of was Miranda, because she is a one woman show. She truly does it all, she is a SMAD major who raps, draws, makes Youtube videos (channel: Miranda Marck), is involved in ROTC Air Force, is on the JMU Athletic Video Board, and was a FROG for McGraw-Long this past summer. Now that you know a little bit of the basics about her let’s dive deeper.

How would you describe yourself?

Laid back, easygoing, and goofy.

What is your spirit animal?

Prairie dog because they have random bursts of energy.

What is your passion?

Career wise it would be creating things such as videos and art because you can recreate how you feel. In a general sense, I love making people laugh and smile.

Who is your role model?

My role model is Catie Cavallaro, she is a girl from my high school who was on the boy’s wrestling team (which I was also on). She is determined, brave, and daring. She even ended up going to states for boy’s wrestling which was incredibly inspiring because it shows how even when things are not in your favor you can overcome it.

What is your favorite quote?

“I’m going to make everything around me beautiful – that will be my life” ~Elsie de Wolfe.

And in my opinion she is following that quote with the way she lives everyday, with a positive attitude and a big smile on her face. I could write a novel of stories about Miranda but words could never come close to explain her, she is quite the enigma. Only she can show people who she really is. Which is alright, I guess.

My guilty pleasure is watching reality tv and living vicariously through them.
