Fun Places to Visit over Break

Looking for fun places to go on breaks? There’s probably a ton of fun things to do right near your hometown! From the middle of summer to the dead of winter, there’s so much to do up and down the East coast.

Fall:

VA– Virginia in the fall is so beautiful, especially in the Shenandoah area. Apple picking and pumpkin patches are just the thing to get you into the fall spirit! From Charlottesville to the Chesapeake Bay area, these fun little places are all over our state!

MD– Maryland and DC are known for their festivals. Corn mazes, pumpkin patches, petting zoos, hayrides, apple picking, Halloween activities and more. They have an abundance of fall events for people of all ages!

NY/NJ– What could be prettier than strolling Central Park in the fall?….Nothing! Not to mention the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It’s a tradition! With the city that never sleeps right next door, there’s no way to be bored!

Winter:

VA– Winter in Virginia is packed with fun. For those who love the snow, there are many ski resorts for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing! If you would rather get in the Christmas spirit without the snow, Williamsburg is the place to be! From Colonial Williamsburg, to the outlet mall, to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens, there’s surely something for everyone!

MD– For those in Maryland and Northern Virginia, DC is just a short trip away. Once winter begins, our capital is full of lights and holiday cheer. From shopping in the city to the National Christmas Tree, there’s plenty to get you into the holiday spirit!

NY/NJ– Winter fun is effortless for those of us in New York and New Jersey. There’s always time to roam Times Square or to ice skate in Rockefeller Center. Not to mention seeing a number of Broadway shows or the Rockettes. There’s no shortage of things to do for our northerners!

Summer:

Summer on the east coast is a no-brainer. Beaches, beaches and more beaches! No matter where you live up and down the coast, there are beaches close enough for day trips! The summer is also the time to visit amusement and water parks. There are tons of great amusement parks up and down the east coast, so it’s never hard to find one! Williamsburg, VA is home to some of the country’s most famous ones, including Busch Gardens and Water Country USA.
