I feel like there’s so much hype over fall but I forget to enjoy fall because my semester gets so busy at this time. I personally HATE the cold. I do not enjoy winter at all, I don’t like being cold. It’s a personal problem, I understand. Although fall is this good middle point where I can still not wear a jacket, and not feel like I’m dying. Which is truly the ideal temperature.

So this year, I’ve made a checklist and I’ve already started making my way down it.

Apple Picking

I have never picked apples in my whole life. This just seems so wholesome and a great way to bond with roommates. Plus, fruit is a major win in my book. So it’s the best combination.

DRINK APPLE CIDER

The only thing better than a good cup of coffee is apple cider. There’s truly no arguing that (Sorry). I have always been obsessed and can’t wait to have my first sip of the season!

Fall Photo Shoot

I’m a big advocate of getting dressed up for yourself. More importantly, for a cute photoshoot with your friends. Grab some leaves, throw them in the air. Giggle and look like you’re thriving this fall. It really is a mood changer.

Visiting a Pumpkin Patch

Again, we love a good wholesome weekend activity. Nothing is more precious than smelling the fall air and observing all the fun orange pumpkins in their home and taking home the cutest one.

Creating a “Thankful for” List

I understand, it’s mid-semester. Midterms, papers, drama and some more. I’m ready for a mental break right now. So I think that it’s valuable to remember what you’re thankful for right about now. I’m thankful for Harrisonburg sunsets. I’m thankful for pumpkin spice. I’m thankful for the time to myself and my time with others. These are all small things that are easy to forget. Take this season to remind yourself of them.

Baking

Yes, this is an all year round thing. This is the prime of “treat yo self”, honestly. I love the smell of fresh baked cookies. Make some pancakes. Bake something pumpkin spice. Remind yourself that you can do good things for you.

Have a happy fall y’all!
