Danielle’s Declassified Social Distancing Survival Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

The Coronavirus has ruined plans for almost everyone. Basically, the only thing people can do during this time is stay at home and somehow entertain themselves. You can only binge watch tv shows and movies for so long which is why I’ve come up with a list of ways to survive and thrive while social distancing.

Update your Spotify playlists/Discover new music/Listen to a new podcast

Go through your closet and decide what clothes you can donate or get rid of

Clean your makeup brushes and anything else you haven’t cleaned in over a month

Play old video games

Get rid of your thousand unread emails

Start planning next year’s spring break trip

Color in a coloring book or paint on canvases

Learn the latest tik tok dances

Play board games or card games

Have yourself a spa day: do face masks, paint your nails, take a bath

Read a book

Get ahead on schoolwork

Update your resume/LinkedIn/apply for jobs

Make string bracelets like you did at camp in elementary school

Update your phone/laptop, bucket list, and agenda

While now can seem like the perfect time to meet up with friends and to go to your favorite brunch place, it is very important that everyone is distancing themselves from others and staying home when possible. Hopefully, this list can help keep you busy while you are stuck at home. Try your best to enjoy this time and stay safe everybody!

My guilty pleasure is watching reality tv and living vicariously through them.
