2026 has been a year full of blockbuster films. From Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Michael and Project Hail Mary, to The Devil Wears Prada 2, the movie industry has released extremely popular and high-grossing films. More than being a good year for just the movies themselves, 2026 has also been the year of generational fashion press runs.

Going back to one of the first actresses to ever have a press run, was Audrey Hepburn promoting her 1961 movie, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Hepburn’s fashion leading up to and after the release of the film was largely inspired by Parisian glam and minimalist cocktail wear.

Though Hepburn was one of the first to popularize the idea of fashion in press runs, her minimalist style has not necessarily carried through to modern years as current celebrity looks are often extravagant.

Some of the most highly regarded looks in fashion were Zendaya’s outfits for The Odyssey press tour. Her stylist, Law Roach, was largely inspired by her character, Athena, utilizing white and gold colors, flowy fabric, and celestial details. The star was dressed in outfits by designers such as Valentino, Jacquemus, and Louis Vuitton.

One of the internet’s favorite looks of hers was the one for the New York City premiere of The Odyssey, where she wore a white dress made by Matriéres Fécales paired with minimal jewelry and feather wings.

Though the movie was less promoted than The Odyssey, Lili Reinhart in the movie adaptation of The Love Hypothesis wore outfits inspired by many famous and familiar romance movies for her press run.

Reinhart wore an authentic 2000s Caché yellow satin maxi dress as an homage to Kate Hudson’s character, Andie Anderson, in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003).

She dressed in a reddish brown slip dress and a 2003 Nannete Lepore knee-length white polka dot coat to honor the character Jenna Rink, played by Jennifer Garner 13 Going on 30 (2004).

Dressed in a sheer nude dress with beaded pink and green floral details, Reinheart paid tribute to Brittany Murphy’s character, Molly Gun, in Uptown Girls (2003).

Another woman who is still continuing to come out with inspirational fashion looks for her movies is McKenna Grace as she promotes her upcoming film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, releasing in late November.

Grace’s most notable look was an almost identical replication of the glamorous tulle white wedding dress that Jennifer Lawrence wore as Katniss in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013).

As more movies are released in the upcoming years, fashion lovers and film buffs can hope that future press runs will be as stylish as the ones seen this year.
