20 Things I’ve Learned in 20 Years

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

So, I turn 20 on Monday…

I’m not going to be a teen anymore, and I have some thoughts.

1. It’s okay to cry

2. It’s okay to get rid of toxic friends

3. Having a few best friends is better than having lots of so-so friends

4. Live in the moment

5. It’s okay to stay in sometimes when friends are going out

6. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people if you’re not having a good day

7. Find your style

8. It’s okay to fail

9. You should trust yourself before anyone else

10. Apologizing means more than you think

11. Nothing lasts forever

12. Don’t cry over boys that don’t deserve your attention

13. Take time for yourself

14. Not everyone will like you, and that’s okay

15. Take every opportunity to network and meet new people

16. Spread kindness and not hate

17. Take as many pictures as possible

18. Your mental health comes first

19. Learn how to cook at least 5 meals

20. Sisters before misters
