Have you ever been sitting in your bed on a rainy, Saturday afternoon and just wanted to vibe to some chill songs? Ever been at the gym and you just need a little extra push for that last rep or last 10 minutes? Ever just really feelin’ yourself and want to jam out while looking super cute (or super comfy)? I know I’ve felt all these things. If you’re anything like me, you need a playlist for any mood yo’ure in. Whether you’re about to go out on the town with your best girlfriends and you’re feeling like a bad b****h or you’re overstressed, I’ve got 10 songs that will fit any mood you’re in.

#1: fuckboi by Gianni & Kyle

Okay ladies, I know we’ve all been there. There’s that one guy (or boy, because let’s admit they’re childish) who f**ked us over. We “thought he was different” but they didn’t really care. Maybe he “found another girl”, “didn’t want anything serious”, or “wasn’t really feelin’ it anymore”. Let me be the first to say BS! But it’s time to BOUNCE BACK! This song will make you realize how “he who shall not be named” didn’t deserve you and that he was a waste of time and space. “What you doing out here with a f*ckboi?”

#2: Sorry Not Sorry by Demi Lovato

IM FEELIN’ MYSELF! You got a bomb af fit on, your hair and makeup are poppin’, and you’re just in an all around good mood. You’re ready to strut and serve looks! This song will make you feel sorry (not sorry) for feelin’ like a bad b***h. Go ‘head honey show em what you got! Demi is a self-love ICON and a fellow baddie! Step out in those booties and show the world that you ain’t afraid to be yourself! (also, Demi’s documentary Simply Complicated is truly inspirational, 10/10 recommend)

#3: 8TEEN by Khalid

Have you ever just been hanging out with your best friends and enjoying life? When you’re savoring the moment, creating memories, and can’t imagine life being any better, this is the song to blast. You’re only young once so enjoy the moment! Being young is “kinda” a free pass for nearly everything and anything. Make mistakes, love, be dumb, be reckless, and just live!

#4: Hanging On by Ellie Goulding

So it’s a rainy day, you can hear the pitter-patter of the raindrops on your window pane, and you just really can’t leave your bed. You’re comfy and cozy under your blanket, browsing Netflix or Pinterest and just want to vibe. You aren’t in a sadboy mood but you just want something to chill and relax to. This is the best song for those rainy, cloudy days. Honestly the entire Halcyon album by Ellie Goulding is made for these types of days, so sit back, make yourself a cup of tea, and have a little R & R.

#5: Little Do You Know by Alex & Sierra

Honestly, I’ve cried to this song more than I would like to admit. Whether it’s because of a guy, I’m having a mental breakdown, or just in a weird funk, this song is one of my go-tos. I’ve become very familiar with being in my feels and have a whole Spotify playlist called “for the bad days/nights” dedicated to when I’m down. This gem is a heartbreaker and tearjerker and is perfect for when you just feel like you need to cry. A song that really gets you in your feels, you’ll be Drakin’ for a solid hour (maybe two). This duo was on X-Factor and they’re making waves. Dammit, I just want a love like this.

#6: Shooters by Tory Lanez

Finding the motivation to hit the gym can be pretty difficult. Even when I do get my a** in the gym, I just don’t want to do that ONE. LAST. REP. I need a song that pumps me up, has a good beat, and gives me that little jolt of energy to keep pushing to get that bod. My bookmark playlist “Spin To This – Tori Sterling” is full of great bumps. Tori Sterling is a beauty guru on YouTube and a spin instructor and keeps me motivated to hit the gym and get that bangin’ body. Check her out on Spotify and YouTube if you just need a little motivation.

#7: Take Back Home Girl (ft. Tori Kelly) by Chris Lane

Before you ask, yes, this is a country song. But, hear me out. It’s a good jam for when you’re just driving around in your car on a sunny day or going on a road trip. Maybe you’re at the beach or by the pool trying to get your tan on. Country songs are great for summer days. When you’re driving around in your car with the windows down, shades on, and don’t have a care in your body, this is a go to. Enjoy the sunny, 75 degree days and savor them because before you know it, you’ll be back in the stresses of college.

#8: Everytime We Touch by Cascada

Do you ever just remember those iconic jams from the 2000s and you just want to scream every lyric and dance around like a lunatic? This is one of those songs from back in the day. You probably haven’t heard it since you were a kid but if it came on your playlist now, you would most likely be screaming every lyric. You’ll also feel like some hot stuff while jamming to this (I know my 8 year old self did). So blast this song at the highest volume and just dance and sing your heart out.

#9: Sunday Morning by Maroon 5

The leaves are changing colors and its sweater weather. The chilly breeze has fallen upon us and the trees are beautifully painted red, yellow, and orange. Especially, being at the best school ever (GO DUKES!), you’ll always know when fall is here. The campus is like something out of a painting. If you’re really feeling that fall weather, you’ve got your cutest and coziest sweater on while sippin’ on that cup of coffee, this is a song you can keep on repeat. So enjoy your Starbucks, take a look up from your laptop, and take in the beautiful scenery of a fall day at JMU.

#10: All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey

So we just got back from Thanksgiving break, but it’s never too early to start decorating and rocking out to some Christmas classics. Okay, so the 2010 version of this song by Mariah is better than her 1994 version, but y’all probably didn’t even know that she had two Christmas albums under her belt. This is always a go to once November 24th rolls around (yes, I am THAT person). If you’re really not into Mariah’s pop Christmas jams, Michael Buble is also a staple.
