At our latest Her Campus chapter meeting, our latest survival kit had one of my favorite skincare items: sheet masks! They were part of the Innisfree New Member Welcome Kit, which anyone can receive if they sign up for an account with Innisfree.

This kit is green tea themed (green tea is Innisfree’s signature ingredient!), so my skin can drink up all that wonderfully calming green tea! It comes with one My Real Squeeze Mask sheet mask (green tea flavor, of course), one intensive hydrating serum with green tea seed, one intensive hydrating eye cream with green tea seed, and one intensive hydrating cream with green tea seed.

“Green tea seed” refers to green tea seed oil that, the label claims, will deliver “moisture and nourishment… for clear and dewy skin.”

I’ve never tried these items before, so I figured I’d be the guinea pig and write a review for you all to read!

Before I get started with each product, let me say this: I used each item on its own so that I would know to which item I could attribute any differences in my skin. I didn’t use all four at once, but rather one each night. For more accurate results, I would have to incorporate each one into my routine for two weeks each, but there the welcome kit comes with only one sample of each item!

This is more of a first-impression review based on the samples. For reference, I have oily skin.

My First Impression of the Kit

The packaging is lovely! It features neat, clean lines and a simple color scheme – classic Innisfree, if you ask me. Each sample is partitioned into its own individual packet, which are easy to separate from the others and easy to rip open.

My Real Squeeze Mask: Green Tea

I give this mask a 7 out of 10!

My first impression was that there’s a lot of essence left in the pack after using the mask.

During usage, I noticed that the physical sheet doesn’t fit well on my face, so there are many air bubbles that are hard to smooth out. The mask is a bit big and parts of the sheet overlapped with each other, while other parts left my skin mask-less. It’s not the best fitting sheet.

This mask isn’t as thin as the Etude House 0.2mm or Tonymoly’s I’m Real series, so it’s not as close of a fit, but it’s not as thick as an opaque sheet mask, either. It’s a semi-translucent intermediate. Even though it’s not as thin as I would have liked, it does what it needs to do.

I give it points for having lots of essence left in the pack that I can layer on my face afterwards! It loses points for the awkward fit, which impacts essence delivery into the skin. That being said, my skin did have a visible glow the next morning.

Intensive Hydrating Serum with Green Tea Seed

I give this a 4 out of 10.

There’s not much for me to say. My first impression is that this serum felt cool and calming, but it didn’t do much for me.

I applied this hydrating serum overnight, but I didn’t see a difference in my skin the next day. That might be because I have oily skin, so I don’t have as much of a need for hydrating products and they aren’t as effective for me. It might work better if you have dry or normal skin, though! There’s only enough in the sample for one use.

Intensive Hydrating Eye Cream with Green Tea Seed

I give this an 8 out of 10.

The first thing I thought of when I tore open the eye cream sample was that the cream is nice and thick, perfect for the delicate eye area! It provides ample moisture with a faint fragrance that isn’t overpowering.

The cream took about 30-45 minutes to absorb fully, but my eyes felt hydrated the entire night, unlike how they felt after other eye creams I’ve tried. The cream also doesn’t transfer or leave residue onto an eye mask while I sleep, either. I’d consider buying this for myself!

Intensive Hydrating Cream with Green Tea Seed

Overall, I give this moisturizer an 8.5 out of 10.

My first impression of this cream was that it’s very thick. I thought it would be heavy upon application, but it goes on lighter than anticipated. After using this for one night, my skin was glowing the next morning, and not just any regular glow: The glow was akin to the one I’d get after using the famous Laneige Water Sleeping Mask! I was very happy about that.

This cream seems like it would be good for those with dry skin, but I would recommend this as a winter moisturizer or sleeping mask for those with oilier skin, like me. I wouldn’t use this during the day since it’s a bit thick for daytime use; I think my skin would get super oily. It’s not intended as a sleeping mask, but if the shoe fits, then why not?

A little goes a long way and the sample pouch comes with enough cream for 2-4 uses. One downside is that the cream doesn’t protect against the sun, so be sure to apply a sunscreen (regardless of season or weather!) if you use this during the day.

This cream seems a bit thick for spring or summer, but it would be wonderful for the winter. I would buy it come next fall! I’m still looking for a summertime moisturizer, though, so if you all have any recommendations, let me know!
