This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JHU chapter.

Can you believe that Christmas is less than 2 weeks away? Time to set up the tree, the lights, and put Michael Bublé’s Christmas album on replay. But, if you’re still looking to get into the holiday spirit, head to 34th street in the Hampden neighborhood for the all the Christmas decorations. From inflatable Santa’s to glowing reindeers, the displays are dazzling showcases of holiday spirit.

In its 65th year, the tradition of decking out 34th street has become a staple in Baltimore. Surprisingly, the residents of 34th street only put up the decorations for pure enjoyment. There isn’t a Christmas lights committee or a team of professionals hired to do the job.

Regardless of whether you’re looking for a place to relax during finals or for some holiday cheer, take a trip to 34th street. It’s literally behind campus. Go celebrate the residents’ hard work and brighten your holiday season!
