Project Runway has completely reinvented itself, and there is a lot to talk about! Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn leaving the show honestly left a big hole in my heart; they started this show together and made it into the revolutionary design contest that it is. Karlie Kloss as the host and Christian Siriano as the mentor took their places and stepped up to the challenge. I think both filled their formers’ glamourous shoes very well, though I do miss Heidi’s funny expressions and Tim’s classic catchphrase of “Make it work”.

The show is no longer shot in Parson’s and now takes place in another location in NYC. Along with the location update, the judges are new too! Nina Garcia remains the only original judge on the show, but she is just as quick and precise as ever, she’s a queen and always will be. Joining her is Brandon Maxwell, an amazing fashion designer, Elaine Welteroth, my favorite journalist, activist, and boss woman of all time, and Karlie Kloss, super-model and killer entrepreneur. I’m so excited to see all their opinions about the amazing designers’ work.

Project Runway has always done a great job of being super inclusive of all types of designers, and this season is no different for that. There are designers from all around the world and their design aesthetics range from “minimalistic luxury” to “clown couture”. To add to their inclusivity, Project Runway as really stepped it up with their models. There are models of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities, and even Project Runway’s first transgender model, MiMi. I am so excited that my favorite show is stepping up to show how fashion should be portrayed.

The show airs every Thursday, but if you miss an episode you can watch it all on Bravo!
