With Christmas quickly approaching, it’s time for everyone to get in the holiday spirit! Our HerCampus writers here at Philadelphia University are preparing for the season, and here are what some of them have done so far….

Jackie:

My roommates and I went all out this Christmas in our apartment. We wrapped our with Christmas wrapping paper, decorated a tree with ornaments we each picked out, and had bells that played Christmas jingles. However, our apartment held no candle to the snowman fireplace my family displays every Christmas!

Ashby:

My roommates got a full-sized artificial tree and decorated it in our living room.  It has twinkling lights and ornaments (all of from the Dollar Store, but you’d never know it!) It really puts us all in the holiday spirit.

Abbey:

We have a total of three trees in our apartment and it’s wonderful. But I have to say, I’m excited to go home and smell my family’s real tree. The trees in the apartment are great but they sure don’t smell as good as a real one.

Kellyn:

This is Socks and she wears the Santa hat every year while laying under the Christmas lights – and loves it!

Cora:

My roommates and I decorate our door for every holiday. With some garland, a miniature wreath, some mini stockings, and a few ornaments from the dollar store, we transformed our door from bland to beautiful!

Christiana:

My roomate and I took the cake for the most festive apartment in our complex with our lit window display! My mom makes all of her own wreaths, so I got really excited about carrying on the tradition and make my own holiday wreath for our first official apartment. I also used leftover ornaments from decorating the tree to make a garland ofer our TV, and even the shrine to my roommate’s dog (who’s still alive and well) got some special treatment with a holiday plant arrangement!

The jefferson team is welcoming, fun, and loving!
